BUFFALO, N.Y. — This past Saturday, Buffalo proudly showcased its community spirit by setting a new Guinness World Record for the largest chicken wing eating competition. The record-breaking event took place during “A Not So Silent Night,” an annual holiday spectacular hosted by The Revelas Family Foundation at the Buffalo Convention Center.
The previous record, held by Amazon Web Services with 397 participants, was surpassed with an impressive turnout of 499 wing enthusiasts from the Buffalo area. This achievement not only highlights Buffalo’s culinary pride but also demonstrates the unity and enthusiasm of its residents.
The Revelas Family Foundation emphasized that the event served a dual purpose. While it celebrated Buffalo’s beloved chicken wings, it also aimed to raise awareness and support for Horizon Health Services’ Teen Mental Health Program. Nick Revelas, President of the Revelas Family Foundation, noted, “Breaking the stigma around mental health starts with education and community engagement. This event combines Buffalo’s love for wings with a mission that changes lives.”
This record-breaking endeavor reflects Buffalo’s commitment to community wellness and highlights the positive impact that food-related events can have on mental health awareness. The city’s residents not only indulged in a local favorite but also rallied together for an important cause, making the day a memorable one for all involved.
