In their season opener on Wednesday night, the Milwaukee Bucks triumphed over the Philadelphia 76ers with a score of 124-109. Damian Lillard led the Bucks with 30 points, while Giannis Antetokounmpo contributed 25 points.
Lillard was particularly effective in the third quarter, scoring 15 points and hitting six 3-pointers, along with nine rebounds and five assists. Antetokounmpo showcased his skills, shooting 8 for 11 from the field and securing a game-high 14 rebounds. The Bucks had strong support from Taurean Prince and Bobby Portis, who each added 16 points, and collectively hit 16 3-pointers.
For the 76ers, Tyrese Maxey scored 25 points, and Andre Drummond chipped in with 13 points and 11 rebounds. However, the team was missing key players Joel Embiid and Paul George, both out due to knee injuries.
A significant moment in the game was Milwaukee’s 25-12 run during a six-minute stretch in the second quarter, with Bobby Portis playing an instrumental role by blocking shots, grabbing rebounds, and scoring on fast breaks.
Lillard and Antetokounmpo made history as the first pair of Bucks teammates to each score at least 25 points, five rebounds, and five assists in a season opener.
Looking ahead, the Bucks will host the Chicago Bulls for their home opener on Friday, while the 76ers will travel to Toronto the same evening.
