BTS has stirred excitement among fans with the teaser release of their fourth version of the official light stick, known as the ARMY Bomb, ahead of their much-anticipated reunion, comeback, and concert series. The teaser, unveiled on Thursday, showcases the BTS logo embedded in a globe-shaped design, and it is accompanied by various attachments featuring the text “ARMY” and “BTS.”

The new light stick version comes with a stand and an upgraded wireless control system, enhancing the interactive experience during live performances. This marks a significant update since the last version was released nearly six years ago, just prior to the “MAP OF THE SOUL Special Edition.”

Upon the video’s release, social media platforms, especially X, lit up with trending topics such as “BTS lightstick ver 4” and “Army Bomb ver 4,” as fans expressed their excitement for the new design. The sales details for this highly awaited light stick will be provided in a separate announcement on Friday, February 6, at 11 am (KST).

However, not all reactions to the teaser were positive. While many fans were excited about the new light stick’s aesthetic, others expressed disappointment and frustration over the implications of the upgrade. Some fans voiced concerns about the potential exclusion of the previous version, noting that recent purchases of the “MOTS SE” might soon become unusable during concerts. Comments reflecting this sentiment included feelings of unfairness given the additional financial burdens associated with attending concerts, such as travel and accommodation costs.

Typically, K-pop light sticks serve as both a fan merchandise item and a crucial tool for creating immersive experiences during concerts, as they allow fans to participate in dynamic light shows. However, with the announcement indicating that from June 12, 2026, only the new version 4 would be eligible for wireless control in light shows, earlier versions would lose their functionality. This change could leave some fans feeling less connected to the live concert experience despite their previous investments.

BTS’s approach to evolving their merchandise reflects the group’s ongoing commitment to enhancing the fan experience. While it’s understandable that some fans might feel disappointed about the necessity for new purchases, the enthusiasm surrounding the new light stick symbolizes the strong bond between BTS and their fans, known as the ARMY. As the concert tour approaches, the focus remains on the collective celebration of music and community that makes attending a BTS concert a memorable event.
