Bryce Underwood’s Michigan Debut Ties Jersey Sales to Detroit Youth Charity

Michigan have-been-waiting-for-a-starter Bryce Underwood is set to make his highly anticipated debut at quarterback in the season opener at Michigan Stadium, and he’s turning his debut week into a community moment. A portion of the proceeds from officially licensed Underwood jerseys will be donated to Detroit youth programs.

The merchandise went on sale Friday. The blue Jordan Brand jersey is priced at 185, with a separate “fan jersey” available for 119.99. A share of every sale will go toward youth programs in Detroit that focus on academics, athletics, personal growth and sports participation in the city that helped shape the quarterback.

Being from Detroit is a big part of who I am, Underwood said in a release, and I’m grateful to have the opportunity to give back. The game of football and the Michigan community have been amazing to me, and I look forward to making an impact in the city that raised me.

Underwood, who starred at Belleville High School, was the nation’s top-rated recruit in the 2025 class. He is the fourth true freshman to start at quarterback for the Wolverines.

Fans can purchase the shirt and jersey through the official Michigan team store and on Underwood’s own site.

Summary: Underwood’s debut week includes a charitable twist, with a portion of jersey sales supporting Detroit youth programs, highlighting his strong ties to the city and community.

Additional notes and context:
– The fundraising angle adds to the anticipation of a high-profile debut, especially given Underwood’s status as the top recruit in his class.
– This initiative underscores a broader trend in college programs using merchandise and partnerships to support local youth and educational initiatives.
– If the debut goes well, the philanthropic jersey program could draw attention to both Underwood and the programs benefiting from the sales.
