The Boston Bruins have made a strategic move in the second round of the 2025 NHL Draft by selecting center William Moore with the 51st overall pick. Moore, an 18-year-old talent from the USA National Team Development Program, brings a versatile skill set to the Bruins.
Standing at 6-foot-2 and weighing 174 pounds, Moore is a left-shot center originally from Mississauga, Ontario. His dual citizenship, acquired through his American father, enabled him to play for the USNTDP. In his recent performances, Moore showcased his scoring ability by notching 21 points in 25 games for the USNTDP junior team in the USHL. Moreover, he excelled at the World Junior Championship U18 tournament, contributing 11 points in just seven games for Team USA.
Moore has one more season in the USNTDP before he is set to join Boston College in the fall of 2026. He will be joined there by fellow draft pick James Hagens, who was selected seventh overall by the Bruins in the first round of the draft.
A scouting report from Elite Prospects highlights Moore as a well-rounded player who excels in various aspects of the game. He is known for his high-end plays, tactical awareness, and ability to manipulate defenders, enhancing his potential as a key player for the Bruins in the future.
This selection aligns with the Bruins’ ongoing strategy to bolster their roster with promising young talent, potentially setting the stage for a bright future for the organization.
