Cleveland Browns rookie defensive tackle Mike Hall Jr. was arrested on Tuesday and charged with domestic violence following an altercation with his fiancée. Police reported that Hall allegedly threatened her with a gun during the dispute.
Hall was booked and appeared in Avon Lake Municipal Court, where he posted bond and was subsequently released. His attorney, Kevin Spellacy, was present during the court appearance but did not provide comments after the hearing.
The Browns organization acknowledged the incident involving Hall, a second-round draft pick from Ohio State, stating that he and his representatives are communicating with the relevant authorities. They are currently gathering more information but did not provide further comments at this time.
The team did not conduct practice on Tuesday; players were focused on treatments and workouts at the training facility in Berea, Ohio. The Browns are scheduled to host joint practices with the Minnesota Vikings on Wednesday and Thursday, leading up to an exhibition game on Saturday.
According to an incident report, officers responded to a call on Monday night from a woman claiming Hall had assaulted her and her daughter during an argument regarding financial support for their child. The woman indicated that Hall is not the biological father of their 11-month-old daughter.
Reportedly, during the argument, Hall became increasingly agitated, throwing her belongings outside and dragging her on a porch and driveway. At one point, he allegedly threatened her with a gun, saying he would “end it all.”
The woman chose not to seek medical treatment following the incident. Police later discovered evidence at the scene, including a damaged door frame and two handguns, a .40-caliber Glock and a 9mm Smith & Wesson.
