Dillon Brooks delivered an outstanding performance, netting a career-high 40 points, while Grayson Allen contributed 24 points, leading the Phoenix Suns to a 114-96 victory over the Detroit Pistons, who currently sit atop the Eastern Conference. This win marks the Suns’ fifth triumph in their last seven games, bringing their record to 29-19, ten games above the .500 mark for the first time this season.

Throughout the fourth quarter, the Suns maintained a solid lead, with Brooks sealing his impressive night by slicing through the lane for a layup that brought the score to 105-89 with just 5:43 remaining. Brooks was remarkably efficient, shooting 13 of 22 from the field and grabbing eight rebounds, captivating fans who received “Dillon The Villain” shirts in recognition of his fiery style of play.

For the Pistons, the loss was only their third in the last 12 games, with Cade Cunningham leading the team with 26 points and Jalen Duran adding 23 points along with 13 rebounds.

By the end of the third quarter, Brooks had already surpassed his career-high from earlier in his career—37 points scored during his time with the Memphis Grizzlies in 2021. This season, at 30 years old, Brooks is having a breakout year, averaging over 20 points per game and positioning himself as a potential All-Star candidate after joining the Suns in the offseason as part of the trade that sent Kevin Durant to the Houston Rockets.

Despite a strong performance, the Pistons struggled to close the gap after falling behind 72-56 at halftime. They managed to cut the deficit to 77-74 midway through the third quarter, but the Suns rallied to lead 93-81 heading into the final period. Phoenix started the game hot, making their first four three-pointers and establishing their dominance early with a strong first half from Brooks, who scored 24 points before the break.

The Suns were without star guard Devin Booker for the third consecutive game due to a sprained ankle, yet they demonstrated depth and resilience in his absence.

Next, the Pistons will face the Golden State Warriors, while the Suns are set to host the Cleveland Cavaliers. With their current momentum, the Suns remain hopeful as they continue their push for a successful season.
