Brittany Snow has shared her enthusiastic reactions to the recent “Saturday Night Live” sketch that parodied her Netflix series, The Hunting Wives. The sketch, which featured a humorous take on the sapphic drama, was highlighted by Chloe Fineman’s impressive impression of Snow’s character, Sophie. Snow expressed her gratitude and amazement at Fineman’s portrayal, admitting that she was taken aback by just how accurate it was to her own voice.
“I was just in shock. I mean, I’m just so grateful and just overwhelmed,” Snow remarked in an interview with Entertainment Tonight. She noted how Fineman managed to encapsulate her essence perfectly, joking, “Shit, I do sound like that.”
Additionally, Snow revealed that there had always been a desire for Aubrey Plaza to join the show’s cast. “We always had a pie-in-the-sky idea that maybe Aubrey Plaza would be a part of the show, so seeing her in the skit was very strange. So, we’re hoping one day,” she shared.
The sketch showcased Amy Poehler as Malin Akerman’s character, Margo, while Plaza appeared as the “new new girl,” adding another layer of comedic flair to the send-up of what has been described as a “straight but lesbian, horny Republican murder drama.”
Snow also provided an update on the show’s second season, confirmed after Netflix renewed The Hunting Wives last month. She mentioned that filming is set to begin soon, stating, “We go back in a few weeks, actually, so we’re right around the corner.” As for her character, she expressed hope for Sophie’s growth, saying, “I just hope that Sophie makes any good decision. Just one, just one good decision. I’m hoping the best for her, but we’ll see. I doubt it, to be honest. I read [the script] and I’m like, ‘Why?’”
With the anticipation surrounding Season 2 and the buzz from the SNL sketch, fans of The Hunting Wives have much to look forward to as the series continues to push boundaries and explore complex narratives in unexpected ways.
