Britney Cheers for Sabrina: A Nostalgic VMA Moment Unveiled!

Britney Spears has expressed her appreciation for Sabrina Carpenter following Carpenter’s tribute to her during the MTV Video Music Awards. In an Instagram video, Spears reflected on the event, stating, “I forget I’m famous sometimes because I’m a mom, I’m kind of old, blah blah blah. But I thought it was kind of cool. She made me cool.”

Carpenter, who has enjoyed significant success with her hit “Espresso,” captivated audiences with a medley of her songs, including “Taste” and “Please Please Please.” The performance featured an eye-catching entrance where Carpenter descended from the sky while hanging on a giant diamond, accompanied by dancers in astronaut and alien costumes.

During her performance, Carpenter honored Spears by incorporating a sample from Spears’s 2000 hit “Oops!… I Did It Again.” As one of Carpenter’s astronaut dancers took center stage, the nostalgic voiceover from Spears’ classic track played, featuring a humorous exchange about a man trying to impress her with the fictional Heart of the Ocean diamond from “Titanic.”

Although Spears found the alien dancer perplexing, she praised Carpenter warmly, exclaiming, “I adore her. I love her to death.”

In addition to her standout performance, Carpenter won her first ever Moon Person at the 2024 VMAs for Song of the Year with “Espresso.” The song achieved great success, reaching No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 and accumulating over 160 million views on its music video. During her acceptance speech, Carpenter thanked her fans, her pets, and humorously acknowledged her song by saying, “And thank you to that me espresso.”
