Bridgerton Season 4 Sparks Romance: Meet Benedict’s Mysterious Love Interest!

Bridgerton has cast Yerin Ha to play the love interest of Benedict Bridgerton, portrayed by Luke Thompson, in the upcoming fourth season of Shonda Rhimes’ Netflix series.

Sources have confirmed that Ha will take on the role of Sophie Beckett, who engages in a slow-burning romance with Benedict, as detailed in Julia Quinn’s novel “An Offer From a Gentleman,” which serves as the inspiration for Season 4.

According to Netflix’s official synopsis, this season will center on Benedict, the bohemian second son of the Bridgerton family. While both of his brothers are happily married, Benedict is reluctant to commit until he encounters a mysterious Lady in Silver at his mother’s masquerade ball.

This enigmatic Lady in Silver is none other than Sophie. In the novel, she is the daughter of an earl who was raised as a maid in his household, facing a difficult upbringing due to her stepmother and stepsisters, despite the earl’s responsibility towards her.

While Benedict’s romantic journey stems from the third novel, the show has adjusted the order of the storylines, with Season 3 focusing instead on “Romancing Mister Bridgerton,” featuring the romance between Colin Bridgerton, played by Luke Newton, and Penelope Featherington, portrayed by Nicola Coughlan.

Sophie’s casting generated significant anticipation, particularly following Netflix’s announcement in July that Season 4 would explore her and Benedict’s love story.

The conclusion of Season 3 hinted at the onset of Benedict’s romantic arc, as Eloise, portrayed by Claudia Jessie, is set to return from Scotland in time for their mother’s well-known masquerade ball, where Sophie and Benedict first meet.

Yerin Ha is recognized for her role as Kwan Ha in the live-action adaptation of Halo, which she held for two seasons. She is also slated to appear in the upcoming Max prequel series “Dune: Prophecy,” scheduled to premiere on the streamer in November. Her previous work includes various Australian productions and an independent horror film titled “Sissy.”
