Bridgerton Season 4: A Mysterious Love Sparks for Benedict!

The upcoming fourth season of Bridgerton has cast Yerin Ha as the love interest for Benedict Bridgerton, portrayed by Luke Thompson. According to multiple sources, Ha will play the role of Sophie Beckett, who shares a slow-burn romance with Benedict, based on Julia Quinn’s novel An Offer From a Gentleman, which will serve as the foundation for the new season.

Netflix’s official description notes that the season will center around Benedict, the second son of the Bridgerton family. While both his older and younger brothers are happily married, Benedict is hesitant to settle down until he encounters a mysterious Lady in Silver at his mother’s masquerade ball.

This Lady in Silver is Sophie, who is depicted in the novel as the daughter of an earl and one of his maids. Although she was raised in his household out of obligation, she was never recognized as part of the family and endured a difficult childhood due to her stepmother and stepsisters.

While the third book of the series focuses on Benedict’s search for love, the show made a notable shift by adapting the fourth book, Romancing Mister Bridgerton, in Season 3. This season highlighted the romance between Colin Bridgerton, played by Luke Newton, and Penelope Featherington, portrayed by Nicola Coughlan.

The announcement of Sophie’s casting generated significant interest, particularly after Netflix revealed in July that the new season would focus on her and Benedict’s love story. The conclusion of Season 3 hinted at the potential for Benedict’s romantic journey, as Eloise, played by Claudia Jessie, stated she would return in time for their mother’s renowned masquerade ball, where Sophie and Benedict first meet.

Yerin Ha is recognized for her role as Kwan Ha in the live-action adaptation of Halo, where she starred for two seasons. Additionally, she is slated to appear in the forthcoming Max prequel series, Dune: Prophecy, set to debut in November. Her previous work includes several Australian television series and an independent horror film titled Sissy.
