Residents of Brevard County are encouraged to be aware of potential slight delays this afternoon as the annual Hanukkah Parade unfolds. This festive event, featuring a striking parade of over 100 vehicles adorned with a symbolic eight-branch menorah, will travel from Satellite Beach to Viera.

The parade is part of a larger celebration for the eight-day Hanukkah festival and will culminate at Chabad Viera located on Lake Andrew Drive. Attendees can look forward to The Snow Festival, which includes various activities, food, acrobatic performances, and the ceremonial lighting of a giant menorah.

The Chabad of the Space and Treasure Coasts, based in Satellite Beach, is organizing the event and has also increased the visibility of public menorah displays across several key cities in Brevard County, including Melbourne, Indialantic, and Satellite Beach, to honor the holiday.

Rabbi Mendel Osdoba of the Chabad, one of the event’s organizers, shared the importance of the menorah as a symbol of freedom and diversity. He emphasized that it represents pride in one’s culture and the sharing of unique contributions with the world. “Having a menorah display brings much-needed joy and inspiration to many people of all ethnicities,” he noted.

The procession, beginning at the Chabad on State Road A1A, will head toward U.S. 1, reaching the Chabad Viera around 4:30 p.m. There, the Snow Festival festivities will kick off, with the lighting of the menorah scheduled just before sundown at approximately 5:30 p.m.

This event not only celebrates the Jewish festival of Hanukkah but also promotes community spirit and cultural diversity in Brevard County, bringing joy and connection to residents of all backgrounds.
