Tight end Brett Seither is preparing for a memorable conclusion to his Georgia Tech career as he gears up to play in the 2025 Pop-Tarts Bowl in Orlando. After an emotional 2024 season, Seither is set to face No. 12 BYU at Camping World Stadium—a venue that holds personal significance, given its proximity to where his family moved prior to his junior year in high school.
Reflecting on his journey, Seither recalls the mixed emotions that have accompanied his time at Georgia Tech. A recent gift from assistant coach Nathan Brock—a framed photograph featuring highlights from his career—encapsulates both the triumphs and challenges he has encountered. The frame displays Seither catching one of his two touchdown passes during a thrilling upset win against No. 17 North Carolina, juxtaposed with a cherished image of him celebrating with his mother, Beth, after that monumental game.
“Everything you go through kind of makes you stronger,” Seither shared, acknowledging the obstacles and victories that have shaped him. “It’s also tough, but it’s life, and you grow from it, and it’s part of it.”
Seither’s time at Georgia Tech has been transformative; he has gained not only a valuable education but also lasting friendships. While he initially faced hurdles, including limited playing time during his tenure at the University of Georgia, his performance at Georgia Tech has since turned a new page. He made an immediate impact, scoring a touchdown on his first catch for the Yellow Jackets in the 2023 season opener against Louisville. The 6-foot-5, 240-pound tight end quickly became a favorite target for quarterback Haynes King, contributing four touchdown receptions that season. Impressively, he became the first Yellow Jacket tight end to achieve multiple touchdowns in a season since J.P. Foschi in 2003.
As Seither prepares to embark on the next chapter of his career that includes training for the NFL Draft in Knoxville, Tenn., he carries with him gratitude for the experiences he has had. With family and friends cheering him on in Orlando, he is determined to make his last game one to remember, cementing his legacy at Georgia Tech while looking forward to the future.
