Bret Michaels, the iconic frontman of the rock band Poison, has expressed his eagerness for a potential reunion tour scheduled for 2027, celebrating the 41st anniversary of the band’s debut album, “Look What the Cat Dragged In.” Despite recent speculation regarding tensions within the band, Michaels remains optimistic about the future collaboration.

In a recent interview with Connecticut radio station 99.1 PLR, Michaels articulated his hope for a tour dubbed “40 Plus One,” attributing the delay to logistical challenges rather than personal conflicts. He stated, “This just got backed up. And I’m hoping that, as a founding member, obviously that would be a great day, and I’m positive we can make that happen in ’27.”

The conversation around the band’s reunion intensified after drummer Rikki Rockett claimed that Michaels was demanding an uneven share of the earnings, creating tensions within the group. Rockett alleged that the split would be “like $6 to every one of our dollars,” which made it impractical for them to move forward. However, Michaels rebuffed this assertion, insisting that the scheduling and logistical considerations are at the heart of the delays. “It never happened… we moved this to ’27 back last summer,” Michaels clarified, indicating that the discussions had yet to reach a point of firm negotiation.

The camaraderie among the band members remains intact, as Michaels emphasized that he and his fellow musicians have maintained their friendship over the years. He encouraged open communication, suggesting that any disputes should be resolved privately rather than in public forums. “We’re all friends… Just call me on the phone, and we’ll work out what we need to work out,” he remarked.

The last time the original lineup of Poison performed together was during The Stadium Tour in 2022, alongside fellow rock legends Motley Crue and Def Leppard. Despite some of the recent hurdles, the lingering possibility of a reunion tour still excites fans who remember the band’s classic hits like “Talk Dirty to Me” and “Every Rose Has Its Thorn.”

Michaels continues to thrive in his solo career, with numerous concerts lined up for 2026 while also addressing health concerns related to diabetes. On the other hand, Rockett is set to tour with his own project, Rockett Mafia, delivering renditions of Poison’s debut album at each performance this year, while holding out hope for a collaborative tour next year.

As the band members navigate the complexities of reunion planning, fans remain hopeful for a concert that promises to bring back the nostalgia of the rock era, celebrating their legacy and musical contributions to the genre.
