Bret Buganski, a weekend anchor and reporter for WCPO Channel 9, has departed from the station after more than three years of service. He announced this news through social media on November 30, stating that the broadcast that day would mark his final appearance on air.
“It’s been an honor and a privilege to be here for 3+ years in Cincinnati,” Buganski expressed in his farewell message. He highlighted the friendships he has made during his time at the station, specifically mentioning colleagues Marshall Kramsky and Cameron Hardin. “This is the way to go out, with my friends. Love you guys!” he added.
While details regarding Buganski’s future endeavors remain undisclosed, his career has included experience as a multimedia journalist, anchor, and reporter in several cities, including Quincy and Champaign in Illinois, Milwaukee, Tucson in Arizona, Oklahoma City, and Wichita in Kansas.
Buganski joined WCPO in August 2020, bringing his expertise and charisma to the Cincinnati news scene. With a strong background in journalism, having graduated from Columbia College Chicago in 2007, he has made a significant impact during his time at the station. As he moves forward, many in the local community and his colleagues will undoubtedly miss his presence on the airwaves.
