Brentford has officially signed attacking midfielder Fabio Carvalho from Premier League rivals Liverpool on a five-year contract, as announced by the West London club on Monday.
While the exact financial terms of the transfer were not revealed, reports suggest the deal is valued at approximately £27.5 million ($35.10 million).
The 21-year-old Carvalho has previously represented England at various youth levels before committing to Portugal at the Under-21 level, the country of his birth. He joined Liverpool in 2022 after leaving Fulham.
Last season, Carvalho spent time on loan with Bundesliga team RB Leipzig and English Championship club Hull City. He made 21 appearances for Liverpool, scoring three goals in all competitions, and also netted during preseason matches against Arsenal and Manchester United this summer.
In another transfer news on Monday, Serie A team AC Milan confirmed the signing of Brazilian defender Emerson Royal from Tottenham Hotspur on a contract that runs until June 2028, with an option for an additional year.
The 25-year-old, who has been capped 10 times for Brazil, joined Spurs in 2021 from Barcelona and previously played for Atletico Mineiro, starting his youth career at Ponte Preta. Emerson made 101 appearances for Tottenham and will don the No. 22 jersey at AC Milan.
