Travelers heading to San Antonio, Texas, will have a new flight option beginning this spring, as Breeze Airways announces its plans for nonstop service from Memphis International Airport. Starting May 8, the Utah-based airline will connect Memphis (MEM) and San Antonio International Airport (SAT) with flights available twice weekly on Fridays and Mondays.

David Neeleman, founder and CEO of Breeze Airways, highlighted the importance of providing convenient travel options to enticing destinations. “With so many exciting and historic attractions like the River Walk, Alamo, amusement parks, and amazing food, we know our guests in Memphis will love this new service,” he stated.

This new route marks San Antonio as the fourth nonstop destination for Breeze from Memphis, alongside previously announced routes to Raleigh-Durham International (RDU) and Tampa International Airport (TPA), which launched in May 2025. The airline also added nonstop service to Pensacola International Airport (PNS) in September, demonstrating its commitment to expanding travel options for Memphis passengers.

Michael Keeney, chairman of the Memphis-Shelby County Airport Authority Board of Commissioners, expressed excitement about the new addition. He noted that San Antonio ranked as the fourth top unserved destination from Memphis, making this route a significant opportunity for local travelers.

Breeze Airways will operate the route using a 137-seat Airbus A220 aircraft. The flight schedule includes a departure from Memphis at 8:25 a.m., arriving in San Antonio at 10:30 a.m., and returning from San Antonio at 11:30 a.m., arriving back in Memphis at 1:25 p.m.

Additionally, Breeze Airways is not the only airline expanding its services at Memphis International Airport. Frontier Airlines is set to introduce its own new nonstop services in 2026, including a twice-weekly flight to Harry Reid International Airport starting March 8, and a limited spring break route to Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport beginning March 15.

With these developments, travelers can look forward to greater accessibility and more options for flying to exciting destinations, which is great news for the Memphis community.
