BRED Bank and Fexco Fiji Expand EFTPOS Access Across Fiji

BRED Bank (Fiji) Ltd has entered a partnership with Fexco Fiji to enhance banking services in remote areas across the nation. This agreement aims to extend the reach of BRED Bank by progressively installing EFTPoS terminals at Fexco outlets, enabling bank customers to withdraw funds seamlessly in more remote communities.

Fexco Fiji, known as the leading Western Union master agent in the country, operates in 20 locations, making it an ideal partner for this initiative. BRED Bank CEO Pierre Tastet emphasized that the collaboration is strategically important, reflecting the bank’s commitment to providing accessible and streamlined banking services. He remarked on the collaborative effort to bridge communities and promote financial inclusion and literacy throughout Fiji.

Fexco Fiji CEO Christopher Wilby echoed these sentiments, stating that the partnership enhances service offerings, ensuring they are secure and convenient for all. The collaboration will not only allow Fexco Fiji to facilitate direct remittance transfers into customers’ BRED Bank accounts but also provide a faster and safer option for users of Western Union services.

With this partnership, both companies anticipate a significant improvement in financial access, particularly for residents in rural and maritime regions. This step is viewed as part of a broader vision to empower Fijians by enhancing financial resources and literacy, ultimately uplifting communities across the country. The agreement was formalized recently at the Sofitel Fiji Resort and Spa in Denarau, Nadi, marking a transformative addition to Fiji’s banking landscape.

This initiative represents a positive advancement in financial services, as it promotes greater accessibility and inclusivity—crucial elements for fostering economic growth and stability in Fiji’s communities.
