Braun Strowman Announces Semi-Retirement, Turns to Acting and TV Projects

Former WWE Universal Champion Braun Strowman has announced that he is now semi-retired from professional wrestling, transitioning to a new phase in his career. This revelation comes several months following his release from WWE in May 2025. Unlike many of his former colleagues who have since graced the independent wrestling circuit, Strowman, known outside the ring as Adam Scherr, has been focusing on projects beyond wrestling.

Exploring New Horizons

Before his departure from WWE, Strowman had already started exploring opportunities in other media ventures. He is set to host a new series on the USA Network, “Everything on the Menu with Braun Strowman,” showcasing his interest in expanding his horizons beyond the wrestling world. Furthermore, Strowman is delving into acting and has secured a role in the upcoming film “Deathgasm 2: Goremageddon.”

In a recent interview discussing his participation in the movie, Strowman highlighted a physically demanding fight scene alongside extras who are also professional wrestlers. He commended their readiness to take on challenging roles, emphasizing the collaboration and physicality involved in the scene.

Transitioning from Wrestling

Discussing his shift away from the wrestling industry, Strowman made it clear that he has transitioned to focusing primarily on his budding acting career. He recognizes the dedication required in wrestling and admitted to being semi-retired, seeking to carve out a new path in acting.

Reflecting on his wrestling journey, Strowman expressed admiration for young talent eager to make a name for themselves, recalling his own beginnings in the industry: “I was that kid at one point… That’s what gave me the opportunity to get to where I am in life.”

As Strowman pursues acting, some of his peers recently released from WWE have taken different routes. For instance, Ricochet has debuted with New Japan Pro-Wrestling at their Destruction event, while Chad Gable has become a prominent contender for the TNA X-Division Championship.

Strowman’s story reflects a common theme among athletes transitioning to new careers, where the skills and dedication honed in one field provide a foundation for success in another. His journey into acting signifies a new chapter filled with opportunities and challenges, resonating with anyone looking to reinvent themselves professionally.
