The footage showed a speedometer reading of 111, though it remains unclear whether this was in miles per hour (mph) or kilometers per hour (kph). If it was kph, this would convert to approximately 69 mph, but regardless, the vehicle, a Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing, was seen speeding on roads with a maximum limit of 40 mph near the team’s Levi’s Stadium.
Aiyuk later issued an apology, expressing regret over his driving behavior. In his message posted on Wednesday, he stated, “Sorry yall, my car content won’t come with speeding anymore! Was praying with my son tonight and wouldn’t want anybody else to miss out on an opportunity to do the same with their loved ones! My apologies.”
As Aiyuk navigates this controversy, he has also been sidelined from playing following a severe injury that included a torn ACL, MCL, and meniscus from a game against the Kansas City Chiefs on October 20, 2024.
