Border Security Battles: Trump’s Czar Calls for New Funding and Strategy

Tom Homan, who serves as President Donald Trump’s Border Czar, emphasized the need for additional funding to complete the administration’s border enforcement efforts. In a discussion with National News Desk’s Kristine Frazao, Homan asserted that this administration could achieve unprecedented levels of operational control over the southern border, which he believes is crucial for national security. He stated, “No one’s getting in this country without being apprehended and talked to. We need to know everybody coming in this country.”

Homan also addressed the threat posed by the Tren De Aragua criminal gang, likening its operations to a Fortune 500 company due to their sophisticated organization and tactics. He described the gang’s activities, which include sex trafficking, armed robberies, and murder-for-hire schemes, underscoring the need for a robust strategy to combat such threats.

In the interview, Homan briefly touched on a recent incident involving a Democratic politician charged with assault after an altercation during a federal officer operation to apprehend the Newark mayor at an immigration detention center. He expressed support for attorney Alina Habba in navigating these complicated issues.

On the topic of the northern border, Homan acknowledged that while there has been an 88% decrease in certain illegal crossings, he believes more needs to be done, particularly as Canada enhances its border security with advanced technology. He expressed hope that proposed legislation could provide necessary resources to bolster border enforcement both at the northern border and throughout the country.

Homan’s comments highlight the administration’s commitment to stricter immigration policies and the ongoing challenges faced in ensuring border security. These discussions reveal a proactive approach towards immigration enforcement and the importance of intergovernmental collaboration in enhancing national security measures.
