Nashville, Tennessee police commended singer Jon Bon Jovi for his role in preventing a potential tragedy by engaging with a woman on the ledge of a bridge on Tuesday.

The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department reported that Bon Jovi and his crew were at the John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge when they noticed the woman precariously perched over the Cumberland River.

With the help of others, Bon Jovi spoke to the woman and assisted her in returning to safety on the bridge, according to police.

In video footage of the incident, a woman dressed in blue clutches the railing while standing on the ledge, as passersby walk by. Further along the bridge, Bon Jovi’s team appears to be preparing for a photo or video shoot.

A man resembling Bon Jovi approaches the woman, accompanied by another individual, while his team keeps a distance. The man greets her and leans on the railing next to her.

Although there is no sound, it seems they start a conversation. The companion of Bon Jovi gets closer and gently holds the woman’s forearm.

After approximately a minute, Bon Jovi moves to the woman’s other side, and together they assist her back onto the pedestrian walkway.

Once she is back safely, other individuals come over, and Bon Jovi shares a hug with her. Subsequently, he departs the bridge alongside her.

A representative for Bon Jovi has not yet provided a comment regarding the incident.
