Michelle Randolph, who stars alongside Billy Bob Thornton in the Paramount+ series “Landman,” recently opened up about her interactions with the renowned actor and his past relationship with Angelina Jolie. During her appearance on “The Drew Barrymore Show,” Randolph humorously recalled her curiosity about the infamous rumors surrounding Thornton and Jolie, especially the assertion that they drank each other’s blood.
Randolph, who plays Thornton’s daughter, shared that she couldn’t resist asking him about these tales during their time working together. Thornton and Jolie were married from 2000 until their separation in 2003 and became notorious for their passionate public displays of affection. In a 2025 interview with Rolling Stone, Thornton clarified the blood-drinking story, explaining that they each possessed a locket containing a drop of the other’s blood—a gesture that he described as a romantic idea that spiraled into sensational gossip.
Reflecting on his marriage to Jolie, Thornton described it as one of the best periods of his life, revealing that the two have remained close friends despite their split. He attributed their amicable breakup to vastly different lifestyles; Thornton noted, “Hers is a global lifestyle and mine is an agoraphobic lifestyle.”
Randolph praised Thornton’s easygoing nature, stating, “If ease was a person, that’s who he is.” She highlighted his ability to inspire authenticity in his fellow actors, allowing them to feel comfortable both on and off the set.
“Landman,” which has recently concluded its second season and has been renewed for a third, focuses on Thornton’s character, Tommy Norris, as a high-level employee for an oil company. The cast also includes Ali Larter, Jacob Lofland, Paulina Chavez, Kayla Wallace, and Demi Moore. The show continues to draw attention for its compelling narrative and strong performances, further enhancing Thornton’s reputation in the industry.
The series is available for streaming on Paramount+, and fans can look forward to the upcoming season.
