Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds are embracing the Halloween spirit despite the actress’s ongoing legal troubles with her former co-star and director of “It Ends With Us,” Justin Baldoni. On October 18, Reynolds shared a playful selfie on his Instagram Story featuring Lively alongside a whimsical Halloween balloon spider created by Big Head Balloons, a New York City-based company known for its creative balloon designs.
“This is a creation of the wonderful @bigheadballoons,” Reynolds wrote, humorously mentioning that he had no idea what was behind some loud noises on the day they took the photo. He also made light of how hearing about “Ghost Spiders” not being a real-world issue was a relief, adding that paramedics had informed them that “the ozone layer is healing.”
In the selfie, Reynolds donned a cozy beige coat over a soft yellow shirt, while Lively looked stylish in a heavy tweed coat, her hair styled in beachy waves.
However, this festive moment comes amid serious legal issues for Lively. She has been embroiled in a public lawsuit against Baldoni since December 2024, accusing him of sexual harassment, creating a hostile work environment, and allegedly conducting a smear campaign against her. Baldoni has strongly denied these claims and countersued Lively, though his lawsuit was later dismissed by a judge while hers remains active, set for trial in March 2026.
Recently, multiple cast members from “It Ends With Us,” including Jenny Slate and Isabela Ferrera, have provided depositions regarding the case. Author Colleen Hoover, who wrote the novel that inspired the film, has also been deposed.
Both Slate and Hoover have publicly voiced their support for Lively. Slate emphasized her solidarity with Lively in a statement, commending her bravery in confronting those accused of undermining her reputation. Hoover expressed her admiration for Lively’s character through a heartfelt Instagram post.
As the couple navigates this challenging time, their ability to find moments of joy and levity showcases their resilience and supportive relationship.
