Blade’s Costume Connection: A Surprising Twist in Sinners’ Production!

The highly anticipated Blade reboot within the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) remains in a state of uncertainty; however, an interesting connection has arisen with the upcoming vampire film, “Sinners.” Producer Sev Ohanian recently disclosed a fun Easter egg related to Marvel during a podcast appearance.

Ohanian explained that costume designer Ruth Carter, who was initially associated with the Blade project, generously lent her expertise to “Sinners.” Although the Blade film did not proceed with shooting, it appears that Carter had a significant inventory of period costumes that were suitable for both projects. This connection allowed the “Sinners” production team to obtain these costumes promptly, which was a crucial factor given the tight shooting schedule. Consequently, while original costumes were designed for the main cast of “Sinners,” many of the background actors were dressed in attire sourced from the Blade wardrobe.

Marvel first announced the Blade reboot featuring Mahershala Ali in 2019. Since then, the project has faced numerous hurdles, including directorial changes and delays linked to events such as the 2023 Writers Guild of America strike. Last year, the film was removed from its projected 2025 release schedule. Nonetheless, Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige has expressed his ongoing commitment to bringing Blade to the screen, affirming the company’s dedication to the character.

With this connection between “Sinners” and the Blade production, fans can look forward to a unique blend of cinematic history. While the Blade reboot may still be navigating its path, the collaboration underscores the creative potential in the MCU and its ability to adapt and innovate amidst challenges. Each tidbit emerging from the production processes serves to heighten anticipation for when Blade will finally make his much-awaited appearance in the MCU.
