Former NHL player Paul Bissonnette has revealed that he was hospitalized following an altercation with seven men at an Arizona restaurant. In a video posted on X, Bissonnette recounted the incident that occurred during a visit to Houston’s in Scottsdale over the weekend.
While dining, Bissonnette noticed a commotion at the bar involving a group of intoxicated patrons. As the situation escalated, he observed one individual getting aggressive with the restaurant’s manager. Concerned for the staff’s safety, Bissonnette intervened, warning the man to cease his behavior. Unfortunately, this led to a brawl involving the seven men.
The fight quickly spilled from the restaurant into the parking lot and later to a nearby CVS. Bissonnette sustained multiple blows to the head but was fortunate not to be knocked out; he later sought medical attention for non-life-threatening injuries.
The Scottsdale Police apprehended six of the seven men involved, who now face charges including assault and disorderly conduct. Bissonnette expressed his frustration over the incident, emphasizing that such unruly conduct is unacceptable in a family-friendly environment.
Despite the unfortunate circumstances, Bissonnette remained thankful for the prompt response of the restaurant staff and police. He stated he took some hits but also stood his ground in defending others.
As communities navigate the delicate balance of nightlife and public safety, Bissonnette’s unfortunate experience shines a light on the importance of responsible behavior in social settings, particularly within family-oriented establishments. His willingness to step in on behalf of staff members is commendable and serves as a reminder of the value of looking out for one another in our communities.
