Bills Triumph as Dolphins’ Tagovailoa Faces Concussion Scare

The Buffalo Bills secured a victory over the Miami Dolphins on Thursday night, winning 31-10. The match took a concerning turn in the third quarter when Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa left the game due to a concussion.

The injury occurred while Tagovailoa attempted to convert a fourth down with Miami trailing by 21 points. He collided head-first with Bills safety Damar Hamlin. Concerned teammates immediately called for medical staff as he remained on the field. Tagovailoa was able to walk off unaided but was later ruled out of the game.

Prior to the injury, the Dolphins were already struggling. Buffalo established an early lead, capitalizing on three interceptions thrown by Tagovailoa. Bills running back James Cook had a standout performance, scoring three touchdowns—two rushing and one receiving. Quarterback Josh Allen had a relatively straightforward game, completing 13 of 19 passes for 139 yards. Cook accumulated 78 yards on 11 carries.

Attention now shifts to Tagovailoa, who has a noted history with concussions. He suffered two during the 2022 season and was previously suspected of having sustained another, prompting the NFL and the NFL Players Association to revise the league’s concussion protocol midseason.

With this win, the Bills improved their record to 2-0 and will meet the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 3. The Dolphins, now at 1-1, are set to face the Seattle Seahawks on September 22.
