The TCU Horned Frogs (3-2; 1-1) are set to face the Houston Cougars (1-4; 0-2) in a Big 12 matchup under the Friday night lights at Amon G. Carter Stadium.

Houston recently shifted its coaching staff, parting ways with current TCU Analyst Dana Holgorsen after just one season in the Big 12, and welcoming former Tulane coach Willie Fritz to take the helm. Fritz’s tenure has faced challenges, including two consecutive shutout losses to start the conference season. However, the Cougars did secure a victory over Rice to reclaim the Bayou Bucket and managed to provide a competitive outing against Oklahoma in Norman. The Houston defense has been impressive, ranking among the top teams nationally in yards allowed per game. Unfortunately, the offense has stumbled, with quarterback Donovan Smith having thrown five interceptions so far, compared to just two touchdown passes.

On the other hand, TCU has also grappled with turnovers, dealing with an accumulation of fumbles alongside four interceptions thrown by Josh Hoover. Despite these issues, Hoover has had a strong start to the season, currently ranking third in the nation for total passing yards and tallying 14 touchdown passes. His primary target, Jack Bech, has been recognized on the Biletnikoff Award watch list due to his impressive 35 receptions for 647 yards and six touchdown catches, positioning him for a record-breaking season in TCU’s history. Complemented by other talented receivers like Eric McAlister, JP Richardson, and Savion Williams, TCU’s passing attack is considered one of the most potent in the country.

As the teams prepare for kickoff, the question remains: which squad will emerge victorious in Fort Worth? Fans are encouraged to share their thoughts in the comment section as the excitement builds for the game. Go Frogs!
