Beware: Ticket Scams Loom Over Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter Tour

Beyoncé’s highly anticipated Cowboy Carter Tour is drawing attention not just for its music but also for rising concerns about ticket scams. Ticketmaster has issued a warning to consumers about fraudulent sellers attempting to peddle fake tickets for the tour, which begins its ticket sale on Tuesday, February 11, exclusively for those who subscribed to beyonce.com on or before February 3.

The company emphasized that tickets offered outside of the authorized presale channels are likely to be illegitimate. Ticketmaster cautioned fans on X, stating, “These are scammers trying to sell you tickets before they go on sale.” The presale will allow each subscriber to buy up to four tickets for a maximum of three shows.

Ticketmaster has characterized these ticket sellers as “speculative.” These resellers often aim to profit by obtaining tickets in advance, which makes it harder for genuine fans to secure their seats. As Ticketmaster explains, “Speculative ticketing forces real fans to compete against resellers who are acquiring tickets to fulfill the speculations they made.”

In addition to presale opportunities for subscribed fans, Citi cardmembers will enjoy exclusive access to tickets from February 12 at 12 p.m. local time, wrapping up on February 13 at 11 a.m. Fans using an eligible Citi card can utilize the card’s first six digits as their presale code. For those looking to gain presale access, applications for the Citi Custom Cash Card are accessible online, with instant access to card details for immediate ticket purchases available to approved applicants.

General ticket sales will follow on Friday, February 14, at noon via beyonce.com. Moreover, Beyhive members are offered resale opportunities from February 11 at noon through February 12 at 11 a.m. Additionally, fans can sign up for an artist presale until February 6 for better chances at acquiring tickets.

Beyoncé’s announcement of the tour coincided with her historic Grammy win for album of the year, prompting a significant demand that resulted in the addition of a third date for her shows at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta this July. This excitement surrounding the tour is palpable, and fans are encouraged to stay vigilant against ticket fraud to celebrate the performances safely and securely.
