Bennett’s Big Bet: Panthers Lock in Star Forward for Eight More Years!

Sam Bennett has officially extended his stay with the Florida Panthers, signing an impressive eight-year contract that carries an average annual value of $8 million. This news comes from a reliable league source and underscores Bennett’s importance to the team.

Bennett has been integral to the Panthers’ recent success, contributing significantly to their back-to-back Stanley Cup victories. Notably, he was awarded the 2025 Conn Smythe Trophy, recognizing him as the most valuable player in the playoffs, after scoring 15 goals—13 of which were on the road. This year, he played a key role in the Cup Final against the Edmonton Oilers, netting five goals.

Over the last three postseason runs, the 29-year-old forward has tallied 27 goals for the Panthers, reinforcing his reputation as a clutch performer. Since joining the team in April 2021 from the Calgary Flames, he has amassed 95 goals and 196 points in 289 regular-season games with the Panthers.

Prior to this new contract, Bennett had been playing on a four-year deal worth $4.425 million per year, which he signed shortly after his arrival in Florida.

Bennett’s re-signing not only solidifies the Panthers’ forward lineup but also demonstrates the team’s commitment to maintaining a competitive roster as they seek continued success in the NHL. With his proven track record, fans can be optimistic about what the future holds for the team.
