Benicio Del Toro has secured his next major role, following his praised performance in “One Battle After Another.” He is set to star in the upcoming project titled “Reenactment,” with Cameron Diaz currently in discussions to join him. The screenplay for this film has been penned by Grant Singer, who will also take the director’s chair.
Production for “Reenactment” is expected to commence soon in Los Angeles, although specific plot details remain under wraps. The film will be produced by Molly Smith, Trent Luckinbill, and Thad Luckinbill from Black Label Media, alongside Patrick Wachsberger of 193, a division of Legendary. The executive producers include Rachel Smith of Black Label, along with Bradley Thomas of Imperative, Ashley Stern of 193, and industry veterans Rick Yorn and Scott Greenberg.
This collaboration marks a reunion between Grant Singer, Black Label Media, and Del Toro, particularly following the success of Singer’s directorial debut, “Reptile,” which premiered at the 2023 Toronto Film Festival and was released on Netflix, achieving impressive streaming numbers.
Del Toro is currently featured in Paul Thomas Anderson’s “One Battle After Another,” and he is represented by LBI Entertainment, Range Media Partners, and Hansen Jacobson Teller. Meanwhile, Cameron Diaz, who recently starred in the Netflix action comedy “Back in Action” opposite Jamie Foxx—reported to be the most-watched film of 2025 so far—is represented by the same agency.
Black Label Media is also in development on “The White Van,” with Singer attached to direct, and is well-known for backing Lynne Ramsay’s latest project, “Die My Love,” which recently made waves at Cannes and secured a distribution deal with Mubi for $24 million. The film features Jennifer Lawrence and Robert Pattinson and is set to be released in theaters on November 7.
As Black Label continues to cultivate its reputation with anticipated projects, the film industry eagerly awaits what “Reenactment” has to offer, showcasing the continued teamwork between notable talent and production entities.
