In a recent interview on Rugby Union Weekly, Earl shared his willingness to take on this challenge, stating, “If and when Steve would like me to play there, I’d feel very happy to, because I know he wouldn’t do anything to put the team at jeopardy.” This statement highlights his team-first mentality and readiness to step up for the squad as needed.
The 27-year-old has experience transitioning to the centre, having briefly played there during England’s decisive 68-14 victory over Wales in the Six Nations last March. Earl’s ability to switch positions mid-game is a testament to his adaptability, previously doing so in matches against New Zealand, Japan, and Italy.
