Becht, a former NFL tight end and coach of the St. Louis Battlehawks, expressed his heartfelt sentiments about his transition. “Today, I am filled with mixed emotions as I leave a city and team that I love – the St. Louis Battlehawks – to take on the exciting challenge of building a new team – the Orlando Storm,” he stated. He highlighted his return to Florida, where he played three seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and conveyed his gratitude to Battlehawks fans for their unwavering support.

Reflecting on Becht’s background, he played collegiate football at West Virginia before being drafted by the New York Jets in 2000, where he enjoyed a successful NFL career, including a notable tenure with the Buccaneers.
