Three individuals were shot at Hampton Beach on the night of Tuesday, June 24, marking the second such incident within two weeks. The gunfire erupted around 8:30 p.m. near Ocean Boulevard, south of Church Street. Hampton Police Chief Alex Reno confirmed that the authorities are aware of the parties involved and that an investigation is actively underway to uncover the reasons behind the violent outbreak.

While the extent of the injuries is still being assessed, Chief Reno indicated that none of the victims are residents of Hampton and that, thankfully, none have sustained life-threatening injuries. The Seabrook Fire Department promptly treated one victim before transferring them to a hospital; the other two victims did not require ambulance transport.

During the incident, a person of interest reportedly fled west on Route 101, prompting New Hampshire State Police to chase them, which resulted in the issuance of a temporary shelter-in-place order for a two-mile radius in Deerfield. However, that order has since been lifted, and the suspect is now in police custody. State police announced that there is no longer an ongoing threat to public safety.

Chief Reno expressed gratitude to the various local law enforcement agencies that assisted, including the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office and police departments from surrounding towns. The heatwave, which brought large crowds to Hampton Beach, kept local officers busy as they worked to manage and disperse the throngs of people enjoying the seaside.

Further updates to this developing story will be provided as the investigation continues. The teamwork displayed by the multiple agencies involved reflects a robust response to community safety in challenging circumstances.
