Baylor University’s basketball teams are buzzing with anticipation as the women’s team gears up for a challenging road game against Iowa State, where they will face off against the Cyclones’ top scorer, Audi Crooks. Guard Ella Brow acknowledged the difficulty of slowing down a player of Crooks’ caliber but expressed confidence in the team’s defensive depth, stating, “We’ve got different people to throw at her, so we’ll just see how it goes.”

Meanwhile, the Baylor men’s basketball team is making waves after welcoming former NBA draft pick James Nnaji to their roster. Head coach Scott Drew noted that Nnaji has been undergoing rehabilitation and is easing back into gameplay after not participating in five-on-five matches since the summer. “It might be two minutes, four minutes, ten minutes, twelve minutes—who knows? But we’d like to give him a chance,” Drew explained.

Nnaji’s professionalism and practice approach have impressed his teammates, with guard Michael Rataj commenting on the ease of connecting with him on the court. The team is currently riding a four-game winning streak, but they face a tough challenge against TCU, having lost their last six matchups against them. Drew emphasized the unpredictable nature of Big 12 play, stating, “There’s no easy game.”

The men’s game against TCU is set for 1 p.m. on Saturday, while the women’s team will take on Iowa State the following day at 2 p.m. Both teams are looking to extend their success in a competitive conference landscape.
