Former President Donald Trump’s youngest son, Barron Trump, has officially started his freshman year at New York University, according to his father. Trump shared the news during a video interview with the Daily Mail, confirming speculations about Barron’s enrollment at the Stern School of Business, which is renowned as one of the top business schools in the United States.
“He’s a very high aptitude child, but he’s no longer a child,” Trump said. “He’s just passed into something beyond child-dom. He’s doing great.”
The 18-year-old Barron graduated from Oxbridge Academy, a prestigious private school located near Mar-a-Lago in Florida, earlier this year. Now at NYU, he will attend classes not far from his childhood home in Trump Tower, where his father still resides.
It remains uncertain whether Barron will be living on campus or at home, as NYU has not responded to inquiries regarding his enrollment.
The Stern campus is situated in a vibrant part of downtown Manhattan, directly across from the well-known Washington Square Park. Last spring, the business school’s plaza was the site of pro-Palestinian protests, which necessitated police intervention. In light of potential renewed demonstrations, the university has put additional security measures in place as the fall semester begins.
Barron is following in the footsteps of three of Trump’s other children—Ivanka Trump, Tiffany Trump, and Donald Trump Jr.—all of whom graduated from the University of Pennsylvania, where the former president also studied. Trump mentioned that Barron had considered attending Wharton, the university’s business school, but ultimately chose NYU’s Stern program instead.
