Barcelona achieved their seventh consecutive win in La Liga this season with a 1-0 victory over Getafe at Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys on Wednesday night. The decisive goal came from Robert Lewandowski, helping the team extend their lead over reigning champions Real Madrid by four points.

After the match, Alejandro Balde spoke to the media, expressing enthusiasm for Barcelona’s impressive start. He stated, “It’s the best start you can have and we want to keep it going. When we have the confidence, things go well.” Balde commented on Getafe’s defensive strategy, noting, “They are a defensive team who play their own game. We knew we had to play like that, try to tire them out and score.” He also reflected on a late scare when Getafe nearly equalized, saying, “We were lucky that the ball didn’t go in.”

Pau Cubarsi was also pleased with the team’s form. He remarked, “It’s a spectacular start to the league, which is very good, and we’ll try to keep it that way.” Discussing Getafe’s defensive strengths, he noted that scoring first was crucial for securing the three points. Cubarsi credited his defensive partner Inigo Martinez for providing support on and off the pitch. He emphasized the importance of maintaining clean sheets, expressing confidence in goalkeeper Inaki after the unfortunate situation with Marc.

Eric Garcia, who has shown improvement following a red card against AS Monaco, expressed satisfaction with his recent performances. He said, “After the sending-off, which was very unlucky, to be able to play those minutes and for the team to have maintained the level and won is very good for me.” He acknowledged the challenging schedule and stressed the importance of the team’s cohesion, stating, “We know that we have to work to the maximum. We have a squad of an incredible level, and that can be seen in the results.”
