In a Liga match on Saturday, FC Barcelona aimed for a historic start to their season but faced a setback, losing 4-2 to Osasuna. After winning their first seven matches, this defeat marks their first loss in the La Liga 2023/24 season.
Barcelona struggled in the first half, falling behind 2-0. Ante Budimir opened the scoring in the 18th minute with a header, followed by Bryan Zaragoza, who performed a dazzling solo effort to extend the lead ten minutes later.
The second half saw a revitalized Barcelona. They closed the gap with a goal from Pau Víctor, assisted by a mistake from Osasuna’s goalkeeper, Sergio Herrera. The goal seemed to shift momentum, but Osasuna quickly restored their two-goal advantage with a penalty by Budimir after being fouled by Sergi Domínguez.
Despite a valiant effort from Barcelona to mount a comeback, including a spectacular late goal from Lamine Yamal, their attempts fell short. Ferran Torres nearly added another goal as he hit the post in the closing minutes, but it was too late to alter the outcome.
Barcelona will now look to regroup as they prepare for their upcoming Champions League match against Young Boys on Tuesday at 9 PM CEST.
