In celebration of its 125th anniversary and the 30th year of its Foundation, FC Barcelona is launching a charity campaign that emphasizes the values encapsulated in its motto, ‘More than a Club’. This initiative seeks to instill a sense of pride among Barça fans while supporting a noble cause.

The campaign shines a light on the ‘Polseres Blaugranes’ (Blaugrana wristbands) project initiated by the FC Barcelona Foundation. This initiative aims to enhance the welfare and quality of life for children and young adults who are in hospitals or undergoing serious illnesses with the need for palliative care at home.

A promotional video for the campaign features prominent figures associated with the Club, including members of the Barça professional teams, Club and Foundation president Joan Laporta, and Dr. Marta Segú, the director general of the Barça Foundation. The new mascot CAT and renowned director and writer Albert Espinosa, known for the popular TV series “Polseres Vermelles,” also make appearances. The gathering of such diverse figures in support of this aim underlines the unity of the Barça community in its charitable efforts.

The video takes viewers through heartwarming Christmas-themed scenes that create the feeling of togetherness and support among those involved. The blaugrana wristband, prominently displayed by participants, serves as a powerful symbol of the community’s commitment to aiding children and young adults facing health challenges. Each wristband symbolizes the laces on the athletes’ footwear, representing the Club’s solidarity with those who are suffering.

The ‘Polseres Blaugranes’ project is a collaboration with children’s hospitals across Catalonia and beyond, designed to enhance the emotional support for young patients and their families. The initiative focuses on creating a more compassionate hospital environment and developing innovative complementary treatments alongside traditional therapies.

Albert Espinosa, a childhood cancer survivor, is serving as an ambassador for the project. He will be involved in designing initiatives and sharing his personal journey with the children and young adults, providing inspiration and hope.

The blaugrana wristbands will be available for purchase starting December 20th at a price of €9.99, with deliveries set to commence at the end of January. The wristbands can be acquired through the FC Barcelona official stores and online. All proceeds from the wristband sales will directly benefit the Foundation’s project, affirming the Club’s commitment to giving back to the community.

This campaign not only aims to support those in need but also unites the Barça community in a shared mission of compassion and hope. It serves as a reminder that while celebrating its legacy, FC Barcelona is dedicated to making a positive impact in the lives of children and their families during challenging times.
