Barça’s retail presence continues to grow, with President Joan Laporta, Vice-President Rafa Yuste, and other directors celebrating the opening of the second Barça Store in Madrid during the first team’s trip for the match against Rayo Vallecano. This new store, following the first one launched in December 2022, is strategically located at C/Arenal 9, near the historic Palacio de Gaviria and the iconic Puerta del Sol plaza. It marks the first proprietary store for the club outside Catalunya.

The Madrid store spans 140 square meters and is situated on the first floor of Terminal 4 at Madrid Barajas Airport. This makes Barça the only football club to have a dedicated retail outlet in this busy airport, which serves a significant volume of passengers in Spain. The club anticipates that the store will attract Barça fans globally, offering a variety of merchandise, including team kits, training gear, and exclusive collections tailored for fans of all ages.

With this recent opening, FC Barcelona now boasts a total of 14 proprietary stores, eight of which were opened in the 2022/23 season. Among these are prominent locations in Barcelona such as Canaletes, Passeig de Gràcia, and Sagrada Família. Additionally, the club operates several stores within El Corte Inglés, including two in Barcelona and two in Palma.

In June 2018, Barça took charge of its merchandising management through BLM (Barça Licensing & Merchandising), aiming to enhance brand control and expand its retail strategy on a global scale.

The ownership of proprietary Barça Stores includes venues at Spotify Camp Nou, Canaletes, Passeig de Gràcia, and the newly opened store in T4 of Madrid Barajas Airport, among others. There are also four franchise stores located in Palma, Salou, Platja d’Aro, and Ronda Universitat in Barcelona.

Recently, the Barça Store at Barcelona’s T2 airport was relocated to a more accessible area to better serve travelers, a decision made in collaboration with AENA to improve the experience for those departing from one of Spain’s most significant airports.
