Senior officials from ten ASEAN member states have convened this week in Bangkok for the 43rd ASEAN Chiefs of Police Conference (ASEANAPOL), aimed at tackling the alarming rise in transnational cybercrime and human trafficking.
Hosted by the Royal Thai Police (RTP), the five-day event will take place from November 3 to November 7, 2025, under the unifying theme “Collaboration in Action: Crushing Scam, Disrupting Fraud, and Protecting People.” This gathering will see the participation of approximately 280 senior police officials, dialogue partners, and international observers, making it a significant platform for enhancing cooperation in law enforcement across the region.
The conference will have the presence of Thai Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul as a distinguished guest. Pol Gen Kitrat Phanphet, the Commissioner-General of the RTP, is leading the Thai delegation, highlighting the importance of this assembly in addressing organized crime at a regional level.
As cybercrime and human trafficking continue to pose significant challenges, this conference represents a critical step towards collective efforts in ensuring security and safety for all citizens. The commitment of ASEAN member states to work together in combating these issues is a hopeful sign of progress in the ongoing fight against crime that transcends national borders.
