In a recent commentary on his return to the Jackass franchise, Bam Margera has clarified that his appearance in the upcoming film will solely rely on archival footage. The veteran skater has expressed lingering animosity towards co-creators Jeff Tremaine and Johnny Knoxville, stating that his feelings remain resolutely negative following a tumultuous period that led to his exit from 2022’s Jackass Forever.
Margera detailed his hurt and disappointment over his experience, mentioning the extensive lengths he went to for rehabilitation, only to be informed he would not participate in the movie or receive the promised $5 million. The emotional toll he has faced is evident, as he acknowledges living with trauma from his experience, referring to his status as an “ex-Jackass star” as a source of humiliation and abandonment.
Despite these strong feelings, Margera indicated that he is open to the use of old footage for the film, recalling numerous entertaining segments that went unused in previous releases. “I remember filming so much funny sh*t that never made it into the movie,” he noted, granting the filmmakers the freedom to explore this archive without his involvement in new stunts.
Currently, Margera is redirecting his focus toward his family and finding joy in skateboarding again. His journey with Jackass began in the early 2000s and continued through various iterations of the franchise until his brief involvement in Jackass Forever. Although Margera previously sought to dismiss a wrongful termination suit against Paramount Pictures, details regarding a potential settlement remain unclear.
As he navigates these challenges, Margera’s shift towards personal well-being and family suggests a positive path ahead, exemplifying resilience in the face of adversity.
