The iconic helium balloons that will grace the skies of New York City during the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade have been successfully filled with helium in preparation for this year’s festivities.

On Wednesday, the large-scale balloons took shape as they were inflated, showcasing their impressive size. Stephanie Senkevich, who played a key role in the inflation process, expressed the excitement of seeing these enormous characters come to life. “You see these giant balloons come to life and they’re really, really huge,” she noted, describing the awe of watching them rise from the ground.

This year, the parade will feature 17 giant character balloons along with a variety of floats, performers, and marching bands as they make their way from Manhattan’s Upper West Side to Macy’s flagship store at Herald Square.

Anticipation is already building for 2025, when new balloons will make their debut, including beloved characters like Minnie Mouse, Goku from “Dragon Ball,” and Spider-Man. These additions will join classic favorites such as Smokey Bear and SpongeBob SquarePants, ensuring that the parade continues to capture the hearts of attendees of all ages.

As Thanksgiving approaches, the spirit of joy and celebration fills the air with the promise of community and togetherness that the parade brings. The event not only showcases spectacular entertainment but also serves as a reminder of cherished traditions that connect families and friends during the holiday season.
