QORINIASI Bale is currently at the top of the points table for the Goodman Fielder International’s (GFI) Summer Cup 2026, as the third round commenced in Suva yesterday. Bale maintained his lead from the previous round, accumulating 15 points with a score of 43, after initially scoring 30 points and earning one point in the first round.

Trailing Bale is Mohammed Ishak, who recorded 3 points in the first round and improved significantly with 13 points in the second round. In the third position is Tom Managreve, who started with 8 points in round one and scored 39, followed by an 8-point performance in round two.

The tournament saw the participation of several well-known and skilled golfers, including Fenton Lutunatabua, Lusiana Leqa, Gregory Browne, Jagat Ram, Barbara Naisara, Cecil Browne, Viliame Naupoto, and Filimone Jitoko among others.

While excitement buzzed around the Summer Cup, the Fiji Golf Club also experienced action on Friday with the GFI-sponsored Friday competition, attracting 18 starters. Russell Gibson emerged victorious with a score of 20 points, followed closely by Eric Browne with 18 points and Neil Hazelman with 17 points.

Additionally, earlier in the week, the Stands Beer Run competition gathered 23 participants at the club, where Alex Konrote secured first place with 23 points, while Anil Prasad marked his comeback in second place, also with 23 points, and Sandeep Prasad finished third with 21 points.

With competitive spirits high, the Summer Cup and accompanying events continue to celebrate the skills and camaraderie of golf in Fiji, setting a promising tone for the rounds to come.
