The BA Provincial Secondary School Rugby League Team achieved a significant victory over the defending national champions, Ra High School Rugby League Team, securing a 26-16 win in the U19 division during the third round of the Ba/Tavua/Ra Secondary School Rugby League zone competition yesterday. This matchup stood out as one of the key highlights of an exhilarating day of school rugby, where teams aimed to earn crucial points in the league.

Zone coordinator David Wise remarked on the thrilling atmosphere and the exceptional talent displayed by the students throughout the matches. “It was an exciting day of schools rugby league, and the students showcased their skills effectively,” Wise stated. “Schools came well prepared, displaying a commendable mix of defensive and offensive strategies.”

In addition to the U19 clash, other notable results emerged from the competition. In the U17 grade, Nakauvadra High School dominated DAV College with a crushing 44-0 scoreline, and Ba Methodist High School triumphed over Balata College, winning 34-0. The U15 division also featured intense competition, with Ra High narrowly beating Nilsen College 14-8, Xavier College securing a 16-0 victory against DAV College, and Tavua College edging out Tavua District School with a close 6-0 win.

The overall enthusiasm and skill exhibited on the field not only reflect the hard work of the players but also the dedication of the schools to promote rugby as a vital part of their sporting culture.
