Sitiveni Weleilakeba has been appointed as the Interim Chief Executive Officer of the Ba Provincial Holding Company Limited, starting November 1st. He takes over from Isimeli Savutini Bose, who dedicated an impressive 26 years to the company. Chair Ratu Joeli Bulu has highlighted that this leadership transition marks a significant move towards indigenous-led investment and growth for the people of Ba.
During his tenure, Bose established a legacy of enhanced financial stability and an expanded investment portfolio. Weleilakeba is expected to draw upon his extensive corporate experience from both Fiji and Papua New Guinea as he steps into this vital role. His appointment is considered crucial in steering the company’s strategic direction while advancing indigenous business interests.
This change in leadership is part of a larger trend in the region, as organizations increasingly prioritize local leadership to stimulate economic development. There is hope that this focus on indigenous leadership will lead to greater community investments and sustainable growth initiatives that specifically cater to the needs of the people in Ba.
Weleilakeba’s rich background is expected to bring a fresh perspective to the Ba Provincial Holding Company, aligning with the vision of promoting economic empowerment within the community. This transition is not only seen as a vital move for the company but also as a foundational step toward strengthening financial support for local enterprises and enhancing the overall economic landscape in the region.
