Praneel Dayal, the president of Ba Football, has candidly assessed the district’s 2025 season, acknowledging that it fell below the proud expectations of the club, known for its rich history of victories. He emphasized that success for Ba has traditionally been measured by championships, not merely close contests or runner-up positions. “If we are being honest and looking at the trophy cabinet, this season was not successful,” Dayal stated, highlighting the club’s commitment to excellence.

Since taking office in June 2025, Dayal has been dedicated to a comprehensive overhaul of the Ba Football Association, aiming to create a sustainable path back to glory. He insists that his administration is not interested in merely maintaining the status quo; rather, they are set on a full reorganization of the association, from grassroots initiatives to the Premier team. Dayal remarked, “We are laying the groundwork now so that the trophies start coming back to where they belong.”

Despite facing challenges on the pitch, one of Dayal’s notable successes has been restoring faith among the Ba community. Announcing that he’d felt a growing support from fans, he considers the renewed belief in his leadership a significant achievement. The highlight of the season was hosting the Inter-District Championship at Govind Park in celebration of Ba Football’s 90th anniversary. Although the trophy did not stay with Ba, Dayal described this event as an emotional triumph for the local community.

Looking forward, Dayal’s mission is to transform this renewed faith into actual results, enabling the team to finally deliver the trophies that both players and supporters aspire to. A significant aspect of the club’s reconstructive strategy includes modernizing its football structure, with Roderick Singh appointed as Director of Football, overseeing initiatives across all levels of the sport within the district.

Dayal also recognizes the importance of reconnecting Ba’s rich football history with the present day. Former players and legends are being invited to engage actively with current initiatives, ensuring their invaluable experience contributes to the team’s ongoing development. “This is the people’s team, and our legends are a vital part of the setup,” he affirmed, emphasizing the role of seasoned players in mentoring the next generation.

In urging fans to remain supportive, Dayal reiterated his commitment to the club, stating, “I am in the office every day because I will continue to strive for Ba Football and nothing else.” He expressed shared empathy with fans regarding the team’s struggles, and he remains resolute in his aim to fill the trophy cabinet once more, embodying the club’s spirit encapsulated by the slogan #StrongerTogether. The determination displayed by Dayal and the association sets a hopeful tone for the future of Ba Football, as they work diligently to restore their legacy in the sport.
