Ava, whose real name is Simone Johnson, has officially announced her departure from WWE, marking the end of her unique chapter with the wrestling organization. In a heartfelt Instagram post shared recently, Ava confirmed that her appearance on the most recent episode of WWE NXT was her last. She made the decision not to renew her contract with the company, emphasizing that while it was a challenging choice, it also represents a new turning point in her life.
Ava expressed her gratitude to fans, stating, “Thank you to all who have cheered, watched, and supported me through my journey. It has been an honor & a privilege to be Ava.” As the daughter of wrestling legend Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Ava made history in February 2020 by becoming the first fourth-generation wrestler in WWE history. She debuted on NXT in October 2022 as part of Joe Gacy’s faction, The Schism, and later took on a prominent role as General Manager.
Her tenure included a significant achievement in January 2024 when she became the youngest General Manager in WWE history at just 22 years old. During her time in charge, she was instrumental in introducing the NXT Women’s North American Championship at the Stand & Deliver 2024 event.
Ava’s exit marks the conclusion of a distinctive era for NXT, and the anticipation builds regarding who will step into her role as General Manager. As the wrestling world watches, Ava’s next steps remain uncertain, paving the way for her to potentially explore opportunities in acting, wrestling elsewhere, or charting an entirely new path.
As Ava embarks on this new journey, her story is just beginning, and her fans are eager to see what the future holds for her.
