Auburn-Memphis Rematch: Murphy Limited as Final Preseason Test Looms

Auburn basketball is set to face off against the Memphis Tigers on Thursday in their final preseason matchup at State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia. This game will serve as a crucial preparation for the Tigers as they gear up for the official start of their 2025-26 season against Bethune-Cookman on Monday, Nov. 3.

The upcoming clash will be a rematch of last year’s Maui Invitational championship, where Auburn triumphed over Memphis with a decisive 90-76 victory. As the Tigers prepare for this exhibition, many players will be eager to showcase their skills one last time, providing the coaching staff with valuable insights into player rotations before the season kicks off.

However, Auburn will be without the full capabilities of Mississippi State transfer Keshawn Murphy, who is dealing with a knee injury incurred during an earlier exhibition match against Oklahoma State. Head coach Steven Pearl announced that Murphy will be limited to just 10 minutes on the court.

Fans eager to catch the action can tune in on Thursday, October 30, at 7:30 p.m. CT. The game will be broadcasted via War Eagle+, allowing supporters to cheer on their team as they aim to build momentum leading into the new season.
