Astros Stars Shine Bright: Who Will Make the 2025 All-Star Cut?

The Houston Astros currently hold the top position in the American League West, boasting a strong lineup that has produced several standout performers. Chandler Rome from The Athletic recently highlighted four Astros players he anticipates will be selected for the 2025 All-Star Game: Jeremy Peña, Hunter Brown, Framber Valdez, and Josh Hader.

While Rome recognizes the talent of these players, he pointed out that third baseman Isaac Paredes, despite being deserving, may face stiff competition from other position players, which could limit his chances.

Valdez has been particularly impressive this season, maintaining a 3.09 ERA with an 8-4 record over 15 starts. His two complete games lead the league, and he has struck out 99 batters in 96 innings. Brown has also excelled, leading all American League pitchers with a remarkable 1.88 ERA, an 8-3 record, and 109 strikeouts in 91 innings pitched across 15 starts.

In the bullpen, Hader has established himself as one of the top relievers in baseball, recording a 1.83 ERA in 34.1 innings along with 19 saves and 53 strikeouts, showcasing his ability to close games efficiently.

Peña, meanwhile, is having a breakout year with a batting average of .326 and an OPS of .874, having already accumulated 4.5 WAR. His performance this season positions him well for what would be his first All-Star appearance, while Valdez looks to secure his third, and Hader aims for his sixth.

All four players have strong cases for inclusion in the 2025 AL All-Star team, highlighting the depth of talent within the Astros’ roster. This optimism reflects the potential for the Astros to showcase multiple stars on a national stage during the All-Star festivities.
